ACA makes "flying licence" call at 6am
SEREMBAN Sept 29 - The Negeri Sembilan Anti-Corruption
Agency (ACA) began calling at houses from as early as 6.15am
today as part of its operation to detect holders of flying
licences.
State ACA Director Akhbar Satar said the operation began
very early with a view to catching them before they went to
work.
"There were occasions when the ACA officers had to wait for
about 15 to 20 minutes before they were allowed in as the
people were still sleeping," he said when contacted.
He also said said the ACA had detained two driving school
tutors in Jelebu and Jempol for questioning in relation to a
middleman who charged RM600 for a flying licence.
Based on the information that had been received, the ACA
was looking for a man, believed to be the head of a syndicate,
issuing such illegal licences in the state, he said.
Akhbar hoped the people would not be shocked to see ACA
officers calling at their homes early in the morning or at
night as the operation to detect flying licence holders was
going on all the time.
He said the ACA officers would introduce themselves and
carry the ACA authority card.
People suspected to be holders of the flying licences had
cooperated well when the ACA came a calling even though
initially there was some reluctance, he said.
In today's operation which began at 6.15am, the ACA
collected evidence from an illiterate housewife in her 50s
from Temiang, who said she had paid RM600 to a man from
Seremban for a flying licence.
Today's ACA's operation also covered several housing
estates in Seremban.
